Overview
Bryan Johnson founded the payments company Braintree in 2007, which bought Venmo in 2012 and sold to PayPal in 2013 for $800 million. These days he is best known for a public, closely measured effort to slow his own aging. His day turns on one fact: he is in bed by 8:30 PM, so he wakes at 5:00 AM without an alarm.
The first half hour goes to hygiene, 10,000-lux light, breathwork and supplements. He exercises from 5:30 to 7:00 AM, then comes sauna and red light, a shower and skincare, and breakfast at 7:50 AM. All his eating is done by about noon, and the wind-down starts around 7:30 PM. He set the morning out on his own blog in 2026, and it changes often: in 2023 he was up at 4:30 AM.
It suits early risers who want their health handled before the inbox opens. You don't need the full 5 hours to get the benefit: keep the order, body first, food early, bed early, and the day's health work is done before the workday starts. His 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM workday, the noon last meal and the weekend are our estimates.
