Jason Fried's Daily Routine
Give work 8 hours and keep the other 16 for sleep and life. Jason Fried sleeps from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM and caps his week at 40 hours.

Overview
Jason Fried co-founded 37signals, the company behind Basecamp, and runs it as CEO. With David Heinemeier Hansson he co-wrote the 2010 bestseller Rework. He splits his day into thirds: 8 hours of work, 8 of sleep and 8 for himself.
He sleeps from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM without an alarm. His week is capped at 40 hours, and in summer it drops to 4 days, which isn't drawn here. His phone spends most of its time in airplane mode. He described the split to Inc. in 2017.
It's for people who keep promising themselves a life after work and never quite get there. Set the cap first and the rest of life stops being whatever's left over: a full night, a real evening and a working week with an end. Only the night has clock times, so the workday, the meals and the work-free weekend are our estimates.
